Easter Bunny History
The Easter Bunny originated from this pagan festival as well. The goddess Eastre was worshipped through her earthly symbol the rabbit. The Easter Bunny as we know it was introduced in America by the Germans who settled in the Pennsylvania Dutch country during the 1700s. However, it wasn't until after the Civil War that Easter and the Easter Bunny were widely celebrated and recognized in America by all other Christians.
