Phantom Fireworks has announced the establishment of the Sam and Sylvia Zoldan Scholarship Fund at Youngstown State University to honor the late cofounders of Phantom Fireworks and to encourage students to become fireworks entrepreneurs and to otherwise support the enhancement and liberalization of fireworks laws across America.

Sam Zoldan, whose photo appears on the Phantom Uncle Sam fireworks assortment, passed away on May 27, 2006. His wife, Sylvia Zoldan, passed away three weeks later on June 20. The Zoldans are credited with assisting their sons in forming and building the Phantom Fireworks sales organization. This is a very sad time for the entire Phantom Fireworks family.

Sam Zoldan, warm and genial, is credited with being a cofounder of Phantom Fireworks. He provided inspiration and guidance to his family during the formative years of the company. Until his health would not permit it, Mr. Zoldan spent almost every day at the company offices.

Mrs. Zoldan was the matriarch and foundation of the family. Through her grace, warmth and intelligence, she supported Sam, Bruce and the entire family in all of their endeavors. Mrs. Zoldan was a presence and strong influence at Phantom Fireworks from its inception, having visited a showroom just three days prior to her death.

Bruce J. Zoldan and Alan L. Zoldan, President and Vice President respectively of Phantom Fireworks, along with brother Jeff Zoldan and sisters Diane Burda and Judy Lockshaw, have established the Sam and Sylvia Zoldan Scholarship Fund at Youngstown State University to honor their parents memories. Phantom Fireworks will match all contributions made to The Sam and Sylvia Zoldan Scholarship Fund. All individuals who contribute $100.00 or more to the scholarship fund will become lifetime Phantom Fireworks Premier Card holders.

The Sam and Sylvia Zoldan Scholarship Fund will support the educational efforts of students pursuing a business course. Hopefully, the scholarship recipients will recognize that they received support from a family involved in the fireworks business, and that the students will themselves become fireworks supporters.
